The money you raise for YSC through Tour de Pink helps women at all stages of their diagnosis, treatment, recovery and beyond. One of the very first ways a young woman may connect with YSC is by receiving a YSC Newly Diagnosed Navigator. This resource was created to educate and empower newly diagnosed young women. It includes an easy-to-understand breast cancer glossary, questions to ask healthcare teams and inspiring messages from young women who’ve been down this road. Women may receive a copy from a healthcare provider who partners with YSC, from a YSC volunteer State Leader or by ordering a free hard copy or downloading one from YSC’s website. Last year YSC distributed 610 copies of this powerful tool to young women in need. YSC never charges a fee for materials and are grateful for the funds raised by TdP riders that allow us to ensure no young woman faces her diagnosis alone.
The Newly Diagnosed Navigator helps a young woman understand her particular diagnoses, discusses different treatment options, includes best practices for health and nutrition during treatment and steps a woman can take to preserve her fertility.
Young women can order their own copy of the Newly Diagnosed Navigator or download an electronic version here.
